Moss laden Oaks and fragrant magnolias line the entrance to Historic Melhana Plantation. Developed by successful industrialist, Howard Melville Hanna, the antebellum Main House, with its indoor pool and English gardens has been restored to its original elegance and luxury. There is even a private theater, The Showboat, where Gone with the Wind was first screened in the 1930*s. Expect to be pampered in an exclusive environment created with your comfort in mind. I-10 in Tallahassee Take US 319 North -Thomasville Exit- approximately 20 minutes. Melhana Plantation is on the on the left, 9 miles from the Georgia State Line. US 84 East from Dothan When US 84 East turns 90 degrees to left, go straight towards downtown Thomasville. At next traffic light (1.5 miles) turn right. Turn right at the BP station on US 319 South. Melhana Plantation is 3.5 miles on the right. South on I-75 from Macon Take Exit 99, Highway 300 through Albany to Thomasville, take US 319 South off Highway 300. Melhana is 3.5 miles south on US 319 South past the intersection of the 319 South truck by-pass North on I-75 from Lake City Take Exit 16, US 84 West to Thomasville. In Thomasville, take a left on Pinetree Boulevard at BP station. Travel approximately 5 mile on Pinetree to the intersection of US 319 South. Turn left onto US 319 South. Melhana Plantation is 3.5 miles on the US 319 South on the right.

Complimentary Full Plantation breakfast is served each morning. The Dining Rooms at Melhana serves dinner nightly with a gourmet, fine dining experience with elegant china, silver, crystal and white glove service. Reservations -and a jacket for gentlemen- are requested. Melhana is a non-smoking facility, however we do provide ashtrays on the veranda. Each afternoon from 4.00-6.00 our guests are invited to join us for tea and wine in the Hanna room.
Meeting and conference rooms are available for a capacity from 4 to 100 people. Audiovisual equipment available for rental.
The Hogan Clay Tennis Court -Dr. William Hogan and his wife added the tennis court in 1986. Guests are invited to bring their racquets and enjoy the fantastic clay courts during their stay by reserving time with Guest Services, or they may use the racquets and balls provided. The Pool House -This lovely building doubles as a terrarium and the pool heats when the temperature falls below forty degrees allowing the tropical plants a warm climate in which to grow. The cabana style dressing rooms are available, and Sunbathing can be enjoyed in the secluded courtyard that is attached to the Pool House. The Fitness Center -Our state of the art fitness center boasts ladies and gentlemen restrooms with showers and private rooms for massage therapy. The center will allow all guests to fulfill their workout needs. Massage therapists and personal trainers are available by appointment. Carriage Rides -Elmer, our French Percheron, has the job of pulling our Vis a Vis carriage. Carriage rides are available on Friday and Saturday nights from 6.00-10.00pm. Or, the carriage may be rented for special occasions. Reservations may be made at Guest Registration. Horseback Riding -Enjoy the scent of pine and breezes while exploring the wooded areas around the county. Riding trails are located off property. Contact Guest Services for arrangements. Quail Hunting -We can arrange for quail hunting on a neighboring plantation in season. Everything from walking, horseback, and Jeep to horse drawn wagons is available. Released or native wild birds are available. Arrangements can be made with Guest Services. Golf -There are several good courses in the area. Guest Services can make arrangements for you or your group to enjoy a day*s outing on any of the challenging and beautiful courses available. Massage Therapy -Treat yourself to a relaxing massage the fitness center*s massage therapist rooms. Some guestrooms can accommodate massage. Contact Guest Services for arrangements. Walking Tours -Our docents will lead you on a walking tour discovery of the owners and their contributions to the Plantation from 1825 to the present. Walking tours are scheduled daily with a twenty-four hour notice. Board Games and Lawn Games-Your favorite games are available through guest services. Whether its chess, checkers, backgammon, or solitaire, you may enjoy a relaxing time in pursuit of leisure in the Hanna Room, the Hogan Room, the Veranda or the Pool House. If you love the outdoors, croquet may be the game for you. Our expanse of green lawns is a perfect croquet course. Let the games begin. Library -If your idea of a perfect afternoon is to curl up with a good book, amble into the Hanna Room and peruse our excellent selection of books on the local history and economy. Or enjoy the many travel journals that awaken your imagination to distant places. Fishing -Deep sea and fresh water fishing are available for the novice or the professional. The Gulf of Mexico is only an hour and a half from Melhana. There are several lakes in the area that offer guided fishing trips, including Lake Seminole which is ranked the fifth best bass-fishing lake in the U.S. The Flint River is located in Bainbridge, which is a forty minute drive. Water Sports -The area waters provide historical and river tours, wildlife refuges, tours, canoeing and scuba diving. For the sailboat enthusiast there are several day and sunset cruises offered in the Gulf of Mexico.
